well i have heard i think its was a d-1sc on a zo6 and it was not that loud. At idle it wasnt very noticable until he gave it a little gas, then you could tell it was there. But for example a vortech v-1 s-trim, its insanely loud. I heard one on a 99 GT and you could hear it before you saw it. Everyone just started looking around the parking lot until he came around the corner. I say the v-1's from vortech are the loudest by far.

My boss took us out to the bar for a looooong day of hard labor and handed out envelopes to us. I thiught 100.00 or so. Im a forman. I opened it in my car and found 4000.00 of ibomus insentof. I look around as I type this to see if my wife is near by as I told her 150.00.

Anyways

Thats funny about the wife! Are you union?

What do you mean is a V1 S trim hard to find? You can buy them brand new. I bought an SQ s trim from www.superchargers4less.com Thats was the best price I could find. Also check the deallers on the corral power adder 4/s section as they have good prices too.

Im non union now, it ok. The guy I work for is pretty cool. I pretty much run his business. Im a tile setter and he,s a business man. So?? what ever happens happens.. I will say I was getting sued for some boggus crap and he some how lost the court papers, opps. I think he knows Ill walk with no probs, but again hes a real cool guy to work for.

Any blower with straight cut gears will whine like a jet. My best friend ordered his S trim like that and it sounds like a DC10 is flying by.

so your buying a supercharger on sound? not sure how wise that is but to each his own. anyways my Vortech S-trim is pretty damn loud and reliable too, but guess that doesnt matter as long as its loud i guess.

BTW the Vortech V1- A, S, and SC all use the same transmissions and will sound basically the same only difference in sound would be from manufacturing tolerances(gear mesh)

the A-trim is no longer being made, it was replaced by the SC-trim has taken its place, but the difference is the impellar, they carry the EXACT same transmissions and step up ratios of 3.45:1. the SQ-trim is a V2 model and carries a totally different transmission with helical cut gears(as opposed to the V1's straight cut(loud) gears)and a step up ratio of 3.60:1 if im not mistaken.

The V-1, A and S-trims are both loud, the A-trim is reated for 4-6psi. The S-trim is rated for 8-12psi I think.

The SC is the new version of the A-trim (V-2), but it's pretty much silent. I think SQ stands for super quiet or somethign like that....V-1's are no longer made as far as I know.

this is bad information the SQ-trim is NOT the replacement for the A-trim, as i stated above your post, the SC-trim replaced the A-trim. the SQ-trim is basically a quiet S-trim with a different step up ratio, the SQ is NOT a entry level blower like the A-trim was and the SC-trim is. there will ALWAYS a place for the venerable S-trim, they have been the bread and butter for Vortech i dont see then ever stopping the production of the S-trim

FWIW, the v-2 sq s-trim is not silent. It IS more quiet than the v-1, but don't be fooled by the marketing label. I have one on my 92, and you can hear it just fine. The never-ending parking lot comments of "does that thing have a supercharger/turbo?" tells me plenty of people notice the sound.

I like it.

The ATI blowers make a good deal of noise. The p1sc and the d1sc both make plenty of racket - in a good way.

Best of luck with your choice, whichever way you go you will find positive manifold pressure is a very good thing indeed!
