What's black and gold and shiny?

What does the gold coating do? Any risk of it flaking off?

Wondering the same thing, what is the benefit of the gold plating?

I would bet they do cost more Spdfreak.

The gold coating is a ceramic thermal barrier to reduce heat transferred to the piston.

The black coating is like a teflon coating to reduce friction on moving surfaces.

Those pistons are saweet......and yes, they probably cost a grip.....LOL

What is your applicatioin Beefcake?

2011 5.0. 10:1 compression, down 1 pt over stock. probably 12 psi

will be doing a set of jpc heads and cams as well.

planning on 10.2 to 10.3 in competition and dip into a 9 at will....
