What's everyones winter projects?

All I can say is that I'm taking it up a notch. Secrets will be revealed in August at Fun Ford in Epping, NH. Or maybe sooner at a Fun Ford Event.

Taking it up a notch??? I think you took it up to the penthouse floor this past summer... I can't imagine what else is to come!!!

As for me... I don't know. I'm hoping "Santa" will bring me some front end suspension goodies. I REALLY want to do a tubular K member/A arms/Coil overs/caster camber plates/strange struts and shocks. Seeing as how my dad went from an 11.9 at 115 to an 11.8 at 117mph with the same setup, it may be all I need to get my little combo into the 11's.

Some little stuff...removing my 40 series Flows and tailpipes and installing 50 series Flows with dumps is the main thing right now. Also plan on changing my transmission fluid to B&M Trickshift. Will also be installing 17x8 Bullitt wheels and 245/45 Goodyear Eagles.

 Hey Paul...isn't that what your buddy over at the corral gained with that TB swap? :p

Im sure if you sell your TB that you wont invest that much money into it...and the mph gained per dollar spent will be MUCH better than that whole front suspension setup. I hope you get into the 11's with whichever route you take next. :nice:

Nate, trust me, the fox TB will be done someday soon BUT I want to run in the 11's with my current combo. I have the MPH for it now, I just need to replace my stock suspension pieces I still run (except for my GW LCA's). I know with bigger parts (heads, cam, intake, TB, MAF, exhaust, etc) I could do it, but I know my "little" combo has it in it now. The front suspension has many benefits other than better times at the drap strip. I will be able to lower the car, it will take weight off the car which is ALWAYS a good thing in terms of handeling/less strain on parts/etc, it will clean up the eginebay and underside of the car, etc. I've been going back and forth on what to do next all summer, but at my last race I realized that the car has it in it as it sits but my near 70K mile suspension has had all it can take, its just too soft now and I'm getting HORRIBLE squat on the launch which then unloads and spins the tires.

I'm almost positive I wouldn't see the increase that Willy did either, as he has components that can use the extra airflow of the larger TB. In my case I don't know if my 65mm is THAT much of a restriction due to my heads, cam, and intake. His higher reving/higher flowing intake, larger valved/intake port heads, and LARGE cam would be choking with a 65mm TB on it like I have and that is why I think he saw such a large gain. I "should" gain some, but to think I'll gain as much as he did doesn't make sense as the combos are very different in their airflow needs. ~2mph is a pretty big jump and I don't see my current TB being a big enough restriction to net me the same gain... I wish it could though! I'm still not convinced on the whole fox TB swap. I will probably end up doing it. Ideally I will do the swap AT THE TRACK and make a pass with my current setup and then with the 75mm fox setup and then I (we) would know if it really worth it or not. I do know Ed C. has been telling me for a LONG time to do the fox TB conversion, and he has told me for a while that I should switch to long tubes and an 80mm MAF. He also recommended a 75mm TB for my car as well. Ideally SOMEDAY I'll be able to do all this, but for now I just keep trying to ring out everything this current combo has in it. That mentallity has gotten me to where I'm at now. I almost stopped racing the car when I hit my orginal goal of a low 13 at 105mph... just think if I had done that. :bang:

unfortunetly nothing. just wait till winter is over so i can install all my stuff that i've been gathering up.

Having the car in storage and beeing laid-off during winter sucks!!!!!!!!

next winter is going to be absolutly crazy. H/C/I swap, polishing and painting misc. parts, longtubes and prochamber spraying some clear over the engine compartment and then some detailing.

I can understand that Paul. I am sure you are going to get there with whichever way you choose. And just like you said, its all about the combo for what gains you will see. Good luck man

Do you want to do it with a stock Performer? What size TB did GTJake have?
Gonna make me beg Paul? :D Best of luck whatever you do.

my car looks like complete ass so I figured i'd do the body over the winter even though its still slow! lol

Hopefully I'll get all this done:
cobra front bumper w/clear fogs
s281 wing
saleen heat extractor hood
new paintjob(this will be done in march) - still trying to decide on the color. I'm thinking black or maybe a dark blue. The dark green just doesn't do it for me anymore especially when I get the new body parts on.

im a fox body, but heres my list.....

1)130 amp alt
2) ramchargers dual fans
3) swap to edelbrock vic jr heads
4) rpm 2 intake... not sure on this one.
5) PMS system
6) UPR front suspension set up.

When is your car gonna grace the 1/4 mile track? (and actually make it down the whole way :p )
I knew I was leaving my self open, I just was hoping you didn't pick up on it. :D

I'll be getting to 60' by Easter. If money goes the way I want to, I'll be getting to the 60' in 1.65 seconds or less - 1.55 or less by the end of the race season is my goal (assuming I don't grenade anything else). I'm not guaranteeing anything else. I'm getting the car tuned over my spring break and then I'll be hunting for that guy in the yellow convertible - something about a bar or something?! :) According to my Dad, I need to learn how to drive first. We'll see....
