I just bought my first 5-speed stang and I was thinking about what kind of shifter to put in it. I know a lot of people have the Pro5.0 shifter so was just wondering....what is good about it? How is it different from a stock '94 Cobra shifter? Is it a lot better? My 94 Cobra's stick definatly doesnt go into position as smoothly as my dad's 02GT does. Will a pro-5.0 shifter be more like the 02's shifter?

Thanks in advance.

positive stops keeps you from over traveling the shift forks on power shifts...there for helping with positive gear selection ...and just generally feels better.

The slop in a stock shifter is also totally eliminated with the pro 5.0. The shifter is really notchy at first but loosens up quite a bit after a few hundred miles.

i bought a tr-ax fo my 92. it feels kinda notchy, but its a cleaner shift, and as others have said prevents overshifting. and thier easy to install so go for it.

i had a hurst, went to a pro 5.0 after the hurst prematurely wore out. Both are great shifters as is ANY aftermarket shifter.

A new shifter wont make it shift as smooth as a 01 GT but it will be a hell of a lot better.
