I'm trying to find out a value for a 1971-1972 Ford 429 engine(235 HP) that has a C6 trans plus a 9" open diff rear. Drivetrain came out of a 1972 Mercury Cougar.
There's a young guy at work who bought the 429 engine and stuff for his 69 Mustang, but now has decided to sell it. He's only asking $300 for the lot. I'm not the one buying it, I'm just trying to help him get fair market value. Is it worth more? Or is $300 a fair amount.
The engine had been running when pulled a few years back and also has some type of Edelbrock intake manifold on it plus I think a Holley carb.
He's already had an offer from someone to buy it, but no money has changed hands as yet.
Any opinions?
Thanks...........also, great site you've got here!

I'd say-sure

$300 makes sense. Where are you?
