What's the biggest tire I can run on a set of 10 holes? I've got a set of 4 that I'd like to save 2 and put some drag radials on 'em.

You can fit a 255/60 MT drag radial, but it will be 27 inches tall. A 235/60 will fit perfect on the wheel. The nitto brand tires are narrower than most tire companys so a 275/50 nitto drag radial might work

If the 255/60/15 would be 27in what would the 275/50/15 be?

The MT 275/50 would be 26.1 inches diameter and the nitto is 25.8 iches diameter. The "safest" wheel width for a 275/50/15 tire would be 7.5 iches wide, but considering that nitto runs narrower I think it would be safe. The MT run wide.

I dont mean to hi jack the thread , but i didnt see a point in starting a new one to ask the same question. What is the biggest tire i can fit under my 91 lx? It has the pony rims. It has 245 60's on the back now but they are so bald the belts are showing lol. Also , can someone recomend a good all around tire? I would love to get some drag radials because i really need them , but im pretty sure they are a no go in the rain and this is my DD.

I personally have wanted a set of Falkens for a while. 60 sidewall fits fine in the rears but you may have rubbing if you put 60s on the front with pony wheels. I do anyway.

Well you can always go with nitto drag radials. I have 275/40 nitto DR on 17's and they've worked fine for me even though I've gone on the freeway goin 60 to 65 when its raining. The nitto's work best for a DD anyways because the life of the tire lasts just as long as a normal street tire, so long as you dont burnout all the time. The only thing about these is that you have to heat them up real good if you want some good bite off the line at the track.

I have 255/55/16 falken ziex's on the rear, hook ok on the street, crap on the track though. They are pretty maxed out, I wouldn't go any wider.

I'm running 275/40/17 Falken Ziex's on mine and I haven't had one bit of trouble at the track. I heat 'em up like a drag radial and they allow me to hit 2.0 60's. That's def. respectable in my opinion.

Hummmm....im also running the falken ziex's. I agree that they do hook pretty well on the street. I can somewhat control wheelspin in 1st when i try to launch, i havent run them at the track yet. I also have a spare set of ten holes that i am looking for drag radials for...i think i will be going with the 255 ET streets. I hear they hook the best. I'm only going to use them for the track...they will probably see minimal street time...i hate having two different sets of wheels on the car!

Same here, I had some old beat up 245/45/17 Falkens on my car and went 2.0s all day leaving off idle. I didnt heat them up a lot, just a little haze off the tires seemed to work alright. I have 285/35/18s now and if I heat them up the amount of crap that sticks to them impresses me. Now they wont hook great (this car is decent down low) but they get sticky, or stickier then other tires I have run.

Same. One night the car cut 1.90s on 245/50/16s at the 1/8th track. As well as that track was prepped though it probably won't happen again, but it amazed me that I could get in the gas that hard on those tires and they wouldn't spin. I don't think they even chirped on the holeshot.
