I want to know the exact differences between a regular 68 mustang and and 68 mustang GT. I am planning on buying one here soon and it has been advertised as a GT 390. I have looked at the car and here is what i have found (also have been looking at pics on the net to get a good feel of what should be there on the car). 1 Grill looks to be a regular grill, no fog lights or fog light brackets. 2 Repainted so no C stripe. 3 Have heard that the trunk had turn signals on a GT ( haven't seen any in any pics, non on this car). 4 Has a roll bar inside car, very loose dont think it is factory. 5 Car has 390 badges on lower front fenders not GT. 6 Has GT rims but dont seem to fir correctly ( rubs something on the front a arms I think) 7 Forgot to look at the gas cap. 8 No antenna or visible radio ( interior is raggidy). 9 Car does have original brakets for dual exhaust. 10 Don't know the diff between regular springs and GT springs. 11 Have read that the GT 390's came with chrome engine dress up kits, although have not been able to look at the engine yet. 12 Have read that all 390's were in fact GT's. Engine is original.
Were GT's able to be ordered with only part of the GT options
The guy wants 8 grand for the car. It is in dire need of restoration. I won't drive it on the freeway, put it that way. Maybe I will save a few thousand dollars on the deal. Thanks.
