Just like the title says, whats the difference between Fox body & SN95 talipies. I am looking into getting some 2 1/2 mandrel Flowmaster tailpipes with the polished tips for my SN95. A guy on a local forum says he has some, but they are for a fox body. Will these fit & if not, what is the difference? thanks

I think the only diff. might be the location of the hangers. I am getting a MAC cat-back off of my brother that was on his 90 Lx to put on my 94GT. MAC had the cat-back listed for 79-95 models.

When you think that both cars have the fox frame, and the same rear end set-up...they should fit right up. The only other thing that might be different is the length of the "tip."

Bingo!! I have 2001 GT tailpipes lined up on my 1981 notchback!! The 94-98 pipes will be more of a direct fit than the 99-04. The 94-98 pipes still hang up on the side of the rear framerails. The 99-04 handers mount on the rear bumper rebar. This is because the emmisions canister under the left rear frame rail. It doesn't allow you to get ANYTHING up in there.

I have a complete cat back 97 exhaust on my 87 LX. It fit fine except the shop had to shorten one of the hangers since it hung lower than the other, but otherwise it fit nicely.

Not a great pic, but you can see how they hang by the bumper:

Thanks 4 the info everyone, I think i will be picking those up. i just hope I can get them to clear the 17x10.5's & 315's. If not i will get some rear wheels spacers.

& TRBKRB thats a beautiful LX... The 96 GT wheels are a nice touch.

Don't be afraid to ding the tail pipes inward. Sometimes you just need 1/2" of "massaging" to fit tires. My tails on my Dyno Max clear 275's by 1/2" My friends Flowmaster catback clears his 275's by many inches.
