What's the easiest most inexpensinve 5 lug conversion?

I am looking for the quick easy 5 lug conversion so I can run 99 Cobra wheels. I have not found anyone who makes them in a 4 lug replica

ranger axles in the rear (I'd get new, not trust any used axles)... best bet for the front are SN95 V6 spindles, master cylinder, calipers, etc... but I think you can get 5 lug rotors for the fox that uses stock cylinders????

Lincoln Mark VII rotors for the front. They fit right on your stock spindles.

Yes, but when using Mark VII rotors on your stock spindles, a lot of folks haven't been able to get aftermarket wheels to fit (or at least not the center cap) because of the spindle sticking out too far...

no trying to jack your thread, but i need the bolts that hold the caliper to the spindle and the nut that holds the rotor on, (the one the pin locks into). if anybody reading this knows where i can get the from other than a dealership please P.M. me.

back to your subject the sn's front spindles and axles are the way to go i got everything i needed for the swap other than those listed above from the junkyard for $170

50 resto kit hands down

easiest....because EVERYTHING is there
inexpensive.....compared to other methods. ya it could be less but that takes some of the "easyness" out lol. The only downside is its not any performance upgrade at all, so you may take that into its worth. I wanted the looks quick and easy...so it has been well worth it to me

Mark VII rotors will not allow you to run the center cap on 99 Cobra wheels. Go with 94-95 Mustang calipers or 99-04 Mustang calipers. You need the brake lines nad caliper brackets and bolts also.

****If you go with 99-04 calipers you will need a union for the passenger side brake line fo it to fit. ($1.37 at autoparts store)****

Used axles are fine, that is what I used. They are cheaper than new....here is the interchange......

Aerostar '86-91 Rear Axle; Ford, R.
Aerostar '92-97 Rear Axle; R.
Bronco II '84-90 Rear Axle; L.
Ranger '83 Rear Axle; 10 bolt hsg cover, L.
Ranger '84 Rear Axle; 10 bolt hsg cover, 7-1/2" ring gear, L.
Ranger '85-86 Rear Axle; 7-1/2" ring gear, L.
Ranger '87-92 Rear Axle; L.

When you say right side of the aerostar, are you referring to the driver's side or passenger side?

Yeah, right side, and stay away from the 90 model year. They used a Ford, which is the one you want, and a Spicer, which you don't want. I ran into this, and the head of the shaft won't go past the spider gears in the diff. They are both 28 splines too, so get like a really old Ranger, or a 91-92.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. So if I go with the Mark rotors, the 99 Cobras will fit with the 94-95 calipers but will not fit with the rotor swap alone?

The cheap FRONT conversion uses Mark 7, SVO or rotors from the 5.0 resto kit.

All this is is a factory OEM rotor with a 5th lug.

Unfortunately not all SN95 wheels fit this, and the center cap will not work at all on the 99 cobra wheels.

Out back the 5-lug drum is fine with everything, but up front, the most popluar wheels require an Sn95 conversion which means Sn95 spindles and the related rotors and calipers and brake lines.

Questions

I was going to start a new thread but this is right up my alley. I was going to just purchase the 50resto kit for ease of change, and new components, but like the poster, I'm curious if newer Bullitt Style 18" and Cobra III Knockoff 18" rims backspacing will work with a simple swap like this? Obviously the bolt pattern is the same, but I see the newer wheels have much different backspacing than the Cobra's do.

This is the wheel I'd like to run.
