This car is not advertised and although the owner isn't sure about selling it, he did shoot me a suggested a price that seemed reasonable to me but I don't have a clue about what the market value is on a car like this. Obviously book value goes out the window on custom cars... If any of you know the car, please don't make it public knowledge because the owner isn't listing the car and it's not my place to do so.
Can you guys tell me what a fair price would be for this car???
I want to make sure it's a fair deal for both of us if we go through the deal.

Thanks for your input! :nice:

All that hard work and money put into the car, and the dude puts an F-cam in it :nonono:. I'd be hesitant on buying it because he claims to have some top of the line parts in it. A billet crank and rods are probably 3000 bucks. Please don't tell me that the guy stuffed the stock block with all this stuff? If I were to buy a car with all the work done, I would want receipts....ALL OF THEM. Machine work for the 347, receipts from the heads being ported, receipts from the manifold being ported. I think you get my point.

If all is true what the guy says about the car, I think 13000-14000 dollars would be a bad offer.

He does have some big time parts in there but a few of his choices make me wonder, especially that cam. A letter cam is more at home on the shelf, not a S/C stroker motor. I personally would never buy a modded car without knowing the person or shop who did the work very, very well. I would go see the shop that did the motor and ask for some references.

Yea be very weary....I bought my Gt last year and somebody did a bad job on the stud mound conversion on the edelbrock heads. Long story short, guide plates wore out and due to abnormal spring harmonics one spring broke, popped off the retainer, dropped a valve and shattered a piston and put a connecting rod through the block. $7000 later my car is running again and fast but I'm still really angry that the old motor blew up. If I had known I could have redone the heads for a few hundred bux and not had to deal with that nightmare. But hey you live and learn. Also, assuming everything is good and you do buy the car....Do you think you can handle it? I mean were looking at theoretically a 9-10 sec car. Thats not something you want to be doing stupid crap with. Just be careful...

P.S. I'm just saying the last part not knowing your driving background or age. If your older and/ or know perfectly well what your getting into with all this power then sorry I didnt mean to offend you if I did.

Thanks for the input guys!

I'm not sure why the "F" cam was used. ??? The car owner did work for Ford for years so maybe this was his choice... I don't know. The engine was built about 4 years ago and has 2500 miles on it (trans <1500miles... he blew a world-class T-5 and decided to throw the TKO in). It was built by a reputable circle track engine shop. The block is a Mexican block. The owner has recepts for everything ever done to the car. The car itself is SUPER clean... very much show condition and he's the original owner.

Me? I think I might be okay with a car like this. I'm in my mid 30's. I built a turbo-charged 88 Mustang GT in 1990 when there were only a few in existance. Car ran damn strong and I kind of miss it. :nice: Since those days I've done tons of road racing at tracks all over the counrty. I'm also a driving instructor for the PCA (Porsche Club of America). My track car is a very heavily modified Porsche 911 turbo (3.6L) and it really satisfies my need for speed, but for some strange reason I miss my years of playing with the Mustang. :nonono: I would love to build a newer vert from scratch, but I really dont want to dump all the money into it to do all the mods I would want done (I've wasted better than $100K in car mods over the years and I'm starting to learn what a mistake that was... but I've had fun! :D )

Anyway, this car seems to be 95% of what I would build and it's in unbelievable condition but I really would love to hear a few other estimates of it's value.

BTW, Last time I was at Englishtown (NJ) with my old stang in 1991, the fastest of the 5.0's were running mid 10's with everything under the sun done to them. I have to tell you... you guys have come a LONG way with these cars! Oh yeah, there was no rice anywhere near the track in those days! :nonono: :nice:
