hello all.....23 year old guy from bonneylake,wa here. just picked up an 04 mustang gt yesterday.

its fully loaded with leather, 5 speed, and it even has the mach 1000 stereo in it......20k on the clock


i have one quick question to start off with........it has 40th anniversary badges on it but the research ive done shows that the 40th doesnt come in silver


ive owned a couple fords in the past but no muscle. this is car # 24 for me and im only 23

Well, since it seems pointless to throw 40th badges on a car that was built as a 40th year model.....I would guess you have a silver 40th...congrats!
any plans for you car? street, track? etc....

plans so far since ive had it just over 24 hours are the usual cai/headers/ecu.....thats about it.....ill probably take it to the track occasional and ill terrorize the occasional honda and other then that go from a to b......of course i say this now but in a year ill probably have a vortech under the hood and be pushing serious whp

i have an addiction


as far as the 40th is concerned, i looked it up on cars.com and they say that the 40th package had some sort of stamp or emblem in the center consol somewhere and i dont have that....they also said it was available in red, black, or white only..................although, i do have every other possible option, so perhaps it was special ordered.

can i go to a dealership and get a copy of the original build sheet?

I have no idea...post that question in 4.6 talk and you will get some knowledgable answers quickly.
Also, do thread searches in 4.6 talk or tech when you want to know what brand of this that or the other. There is a ton of useful information that will save you time money and headaches.
The first thing you will hear is don't get a cai...just remove the air silencer and drop in a K&N filter...wammo presto you've got the hp without the pricetag! Headers will be fun...you can either do them yourself and spend about 5-6 hours and some blood, or pay a shop 400-500 to do it for you. Its worth it, but stangs are the biggest PITA for headers. As the the ECU, the 2 biggest recommendations are sct x-cal 2 or the diablo sport....with the majority online here leaning towards the SCT.
One you didn't mention, but should be at the top of your list is gears, 3.73(sc) or 4.10(non SC)

Welcome to the site man, and congrats on the car. In 2004, there were 19,755 total Mustangs sprayed in Silver Metallic, paint code YN. The badges on the 2004's are all marked as 40th Anniversary, but there were a select number of cars that came with the actual 40th Anniv package. Colors were limited and they also came with special striping and other markings to differentiate them. I forget the exact colors though, however 4,529 were sprayed in Crimson Red (40th Anniv only), paint code FX.

On the aniversary thing, its bogus.... my 90 (and I think all 90s) have a 25th aniversary badge on the dash, but they are not a 25th aniversary modle. (and truth be told the late year 89 would have been the 25th)
It was just an excuse for salesmen to lie to folks, to sell more cars....

So when are you putting in 3.73s and the cat-back?

no big deal though.....its got everything else.

hey welcome, I live in the B/L aswell. About a 5 minute drive from the Safeway. My mom owns an 02GT with all the opinions and she has the Mach1000, yes it is nutz for being stock.

i actually just rolled through the Shari's parking lot and saw ur car. i was gonna stop but my g/f wanted to get home........what are you up to 2mrrow (Saturday) night??? you feel like driving to mt vernon for some crazy fun?

I'm not a big fan of the street racing, last time I went to those in kent I got jumped by 4 dudes for just standing there. anything like that then I'll pass. give me a call if you want, let me know. 253-261-8857.

yeah, this is way different then kent...thats why i drive all the way out there......i got out of the kent scene 3 or 4 years ago.........theres no fights, no nothing in the parking lot and then someone will set up a race...those people will go to one of several preset tracks in the area and a couple other people will roll along to make sure to keep traffic back if there is any and thats it........last week there was a 10 second mustang, 2 nissan skyline gt-s, a new gto, newer trans am, my bmw that i had before the new mustang, a porsche and a 300zx tt as well as many other things

its a long drive in case you dont know where vernon is but its worth it in my opionion.........im pickin up a friend at the hilton hotel in seatac where he works at 10pm and then headin to northgate mall to meet some more people.

last time i didnt get back until 4:30 cuz the races didnt end until 3am.....its about an hour and a half up and then another hour and a half back.

What color was the GTO? Was it yellow or that weird orangish color?

GTO was the dark blue.....he's from out in the Tacoma area but he made the hike to Vernon as well.

we dont get there until a little after 11 and the first races didnt start until around 12.....we wait for the streets to be clear.........last week 2 cop cars chilled in the parking lot and that was it......5 or 6 cars would leave to do a race and come back and the cops would just chill.

the high speed runs are usually 3 cars that run where i5 goes to 3 lanes just south of mt vernon and there will be 2 cars following behind to slow traffic down a little bit and make sure they have room to run

Dudes, thats bad JUJU......:Track: You will not get any respect chatting it up about street racing in here.
Its all fun and games till some idiot wraps his acura around a telephone pole and kills the 2 other stupid kids that were riding in the car.
It costs 20-25$ on average to race at Pacific or Monroe, why take the risk of killing someone, getting arrested, or wrecking your car? for what? street cred?
