anyways, whenever im driving, and go to take a turn and downshift into second, it falls out of gear when i let the clutch out.
this will happen like nine out of ten times. it pisses me off.

not only that, but sometimes when im leisurley (sp) shifting into second, it does the same thing, i try to hold it in, but then it just makes this deafley grinding noise.

the only time i know it'll ingage 100% of the time is when i get on it at all.

the things i have done to the tranny include nothing but:
ram cluth (i dunno how old)
b&m shortthrow (i think it's an older one, the base plate is black)
and one of those adjustable thingies at the fork.

oh yeah, and my throwout bearing is making a bunch of noise.
well, im in school right now so i won't be able to reply until about 6:00pm, but im pretty sure i've covered everything.

thanks for listening guys.

I'd like to know what causes this also, My car does it sometimes but i've noticed that it ONLY does it when i downshift second to make a turn. In a striaght it never happens.

I talked to a guy tonight at a meet and his 5.0 does this also. I'm thinking it probably has something to do with the synchro.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Either your shifter isn't adjusted correcty, or you've bent a shift fork, or you've chewed some teeth off over the years....

thats what i was thinking, if you've got adjustable stops, try adjusting them to more throw, and if it only happens in second, i would plan on dropping the tranny and checking it out firsthand.

cant say as to why it would only do it in a turn for those other guys, maybe the sideways forces on the driveline cause it to slip out?

Syncro's...I know T-10s are famous for this and Toploaders will do this when they get really beat & old.
