whats with the wheel hop?

i decided since it was wet out, and i was in an empty parking lot, i'd see what a burn out felt like in my car. turned off traction control, revved it probably to 1500 or 2000 and dumped the clutch, and just got massive wheel hop.tried it again, got the same problem. next time i drive it i'll rev it higher and try it, but i'm wondering if this is a common problem or something.

I've never experienced it and I've dumped the clutch at 4,000 RPM's for burnouts....anyway the wheel hop is due to bushing deflection in the rear suspension such as control arms for example...some people on here have experienced it but it was eliminated once some suspension work was done.

yeah, i figured id try it higher next time i drive the car, but still when its wet out, with 4.10s, i figured i'd have no problem lighting them up. i don't really want to beat on the car so thats why i wasn't dumping it at a higher RPM. i don't think i've revved the car past 4 grand yet.

i love the way the car rides, i don't want to sacrifice any ride quality for a while. warrentys up in 3 years i think, so in 3 years it should still be decently low mileage, enough to do a supercharger. mostlikely i'll do some suspension then but for now i'll take a nice clean, nice riding car.

It's the soft bushings in the stock control arms. Aftermarket lower controls arms with poly bushings will take care of that and help you plant the tires.

I've only driven the car twice since installing them, once at the track. Happy with them so far.

alright, are the tubular control arms from BMR good?

after reading what it was last night i went in to work today and got 5 more hours in overtime, so this paycheck i can afford to do my insurance, monthly payment, and enough for the new LCAs if these are good.

Anything from BMR is good you can also try UMI, they had a display at Carlisle this year and they had real good stuff!!!

alright cool. i will probably start my mod bug this week.

when i bought the car, i'm like yeah i can keep this thing stock for a while.

window louvers, wheels, tuner, lower control arms side mirror covers. and a slick are all on my list already. ah, mustangs, they stay stock until the next pay week. haha.

i was just in tech yesterday and i saw a thread where i think it was darkfires car and he was replacing the bmrs on his car with something else. i saw the j&m and i think when i get my check friday i'll throw it in the bank account then order them.

i've been messing around with the car a little bit more, and i can kinda contain the wheel hop on hard take offs now, but i know its definitely limiting to what this car can do.

man, i'm adding more mods to my list faster then i can add money to my account.

Welcome to our world. I thought I would stop modding my mustang 3 months ago. Now I bought Nitrous, and NEED better rear suspension, driveshaft loop, better tires, and possibly gears.

haha, i wanted to modify my 94 like crazy, but i figured with the power this things making and as good as it looks, i should be happy for a while.

it'll be 2 weeks old getting its first mods.
