What is your favorite supercharger for the 05+ GT? Please explain why.

Most guys on the forums go with the KB or Saleen unit...

Smaller pulleys and bigger injectors are a must!!!

Centrifugal: Procharger

Roots or a twinscrew: Kenne Belle big bore. They are wicked.

Dont forget the hellion turbo kit. There is a guy here running one. It sounds amazing.

Can't really comment as I have never driven a supercharged mustang. But the whipple is pretty bad ass

Twin Screw- Kenne Bell or Whipple

I'll more then likely go with a Kenne Bell

Kenne Bell all the way!
No larger injectors are needed. The kit come with new injectors.
Pulley changes take 3-4 minutes.
You can put more boost through the KB than a Saleen or Whipple if you want to build the bottom end ever.

centrifugal-builds boost as rpm increases,usually reaches max boost at a higher rpm

roots/screw-reaches full boost at a lower rpm,boost can be felt off idle.

Is that rear wheel HP? Has anyone ran one with these numbers without breaking anything on a stock motor?

11 psi with a Whipple is about 500 rwhp on a mustang dyno. If it's tuned properly the engine can hold up for a long time...........no guarantees though.

For centrifugals, Procharger

Twin Screws, Whipple (Ford Racing) all the way. What a neat and clean install. No tensioner issues or thrown belts like the other twin screws.

Roushcharger. It's the nicest looking kit IMO, although it's the most conservative power wise. It does have the only real warranty too, although others claim.

You get what you pay for with the engineering, IMO. You can make over 500 flywheel hp with this kit with a pulley change (9psi, 435-450 rwhp). It has been done already. I know that is modest in comparison to the majority of the kits though.

The Eaton M90 that is used by Roush is too small for the 4.6L V8. 9 PSI aftercooled is the max you can run the M90. Anything more than that, the M90 is a heat pump and you won't see any more power gains. This was proven a long time ago with 4.6L 2V Eaton M90 kits. That said, for the power gain you will see with the Roush kit, it is expensive for the small return.

If it was my car and I chose this type of SC, this is what I would go with:
Centrifugal SC - Procharger
Roots/Twin Screw - Kenne Bell
Turbo - Powerhouse kit

If you are building a race car that will see little but some street action. You should be considering the Turbo or Centrifugal SC.

If you are building a street car that will some race action, the Roots/Twin Screw would probably be what you want.

Centrifugal SC and Turbo's work roughly the same, the difference is that the Turbo runs off of your exhaust, the SC runs off of the accessory belt. There is advantages and disadvantages to each. The Turbo is more efficient at making power as it doesn't rob from the engine to power itself. However there is a significant weight gain as it requires a lot of extra tubing. Also requires more space than a centrifugal SC. The SC requires engine power to spin the SC so it is not quite as efficient as the Turbo. These kits are better for racing as you can tweak the car in other areas to make use of them.

Positive displaced SC( Roots/Twin Screw ) provide instant boost and are not as reliant on engine RPM to make power like Turbo's and Centrifugal SC's are. These kits also add a fair amout of weight.
