wheel adapters

I have a set of 16 x 8 Cobra R wheels. Has anyone used the spacers for these wheels or other late model wheels on a 67 mustang ? Did you have to get front and rear or just front spacers ? What thickness do I need for the front and rear. Who has the best price ? I really don't want to pay 300.00 bucks for a spacer kit. If i have to I may post these wheels for sale and buy some 17 X 8 TT"s with the correct spacing.

What is the Backspacing on the 16x8" wheels?

I just put on 17x8's

I just got a set of 17x8 GT wheels off of a 2000 and installed them on my '68. The back goes on fine. For the fronts, I ordered 3/4" wheel adapters from http://www.motorsport-tech.com/ @ $50 each. If you get the 1" adapters, then you can just bolt the adapters on and then bolt your wheel on the adapter. Since I got the 3/4" adapters, I'm going to have to machine spaces on the back of the wheel to allow clearance for the wheel studs. If you can get away with it, get the 1" adapters, they are deep enough to allow the wheel to mount flush to the adapter.

I'll let you know how the fronts work out after the adapters get here next tuesday

Hey man, did you not get my email? motorsport-tech is about $60 more expensive than that guy on ebay that makes them for you. Do you know the backspacing on the 2000 gt wheels? I had 3/4" wheel spacers and did not have to machine or modify anything on them. They bolted on and then the wheels bolted onto them.

1 1/4" in the rear, 1" in the front. These are 16x7.5 from a 2002 Mustang.

Yeah I did get your email, but the dude never responded to my email, and my wife was hounding me to order some (her car)! I'll have to measure the backspacing, but I know it's just about 1/2" too much! Thanks for the info...

I will measure the backspacing on the wheels. They were on a 94 mustang, which tells me nothing as far as what the spacing was. As a matter of fact I think I will call the company that makes them.

And by the way WHY DID MOTORSPORT-TECH.COM CHARGE ME 140 FOR A PAIR OF ADAPTERS!! WHAT A RIPOFF!!!

how did they rip you off? They charged me 140 for 4.

There is a guy on ebay right now that is selling a set of 4 for only $115!!
