I noticed today after driving for a little while that my car was making a rubbing sound when I turned the wheel, but only when I wasn't moving or was moving really slowly. It wasn't a whinning sound. I don't think it was a power steering issue. It made that rubbing sound like when a wheel bearing is going out, but no popping. In my experience, when a bearing is going out, it pops too. Funny thing is, I parked it and went to class for a couple hours, and when I came back out and drove it from school to work, it quit doing it. It hasn't made the sound anymore all night. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure a wheel bearing can't fix itself. Anyone know what's going on?

kind of hard to diagnose noise over the internet. The bearing could be making noise after it gets hot (expands) If it's going bad, you could jack it up and check the in and out motion on that wheel . HTH

Oh well, I have to put it in the shop to run a smoke test anyway. I'll just have them check that too.
