I am converting my ‘91 LX Hatch to 5 lug. I need a 17” wheel up front for brake clearance. Has anyone ran a 17” Cobra R wheel up front, and a 15” Weld Pro Star, or similar star wheel,in the back? Did it look good or retarded? Im not concerned about the wheel diameters, just those two styles of wheel on the same car.

I think it would look odd, plus a 17x9 doesn't really make sense for a drag setup.

They do make 17" drag wheels to clear big brakes

I don’t plan to run a skinny up front.

Then, since you asked for opinions, I'd say it would look kind odd to run drag runs out back and street wheels up front

It will look like you were too lazy to take your drag wheels off the car.
Tires have come a long way, just run 4 cobra R wheels.
Guys have run 9 seconds on 17's and 18's, so the welds on the rear are pointless these days if you get a good set of drag radials.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

This Guy!!! Forget about how it looks, Be more concerned about getting the stains out of your underwear when you get it up to speed. The big radial tire up front does not get along with the fat lazy bias ply out back, and they get into a bar room brawl with you in the middle. Learn from my mistakes.

In my opinion those two wheels would look as you stated " retarded". You gotta run at least the same style wheel front and back man... Unless it's all you have at the moment to run then yeah go for it just to get it rolling lol

They make 17" front 15" rear drag wheel combos now. Why not get those?
