Wheel spacers - if you have 'em, I'd like your opinion...

I've got the H&R 1" spacers on a 17" x 8" (which has recently been widened to 17" x 10" :D ) 96' Cobra wheel. In hard cornereing the top of the tire will rub on the lip of the fender and will cut into your tire. My car is lowered, but an unlowered car may not have that problem. I've had the spacers on for at least 3 years with no problems.

I have1.25" spacers on my stock '99 17x8 Cobras. They come out perfectly to the fender. I like them but I think 1" might look a touch better.

Theoretically, the further you spread out your rear wheel base, the more you center your gravity and thus turn better. However, spreading out the rear wheels also has the effect of loosening up the rear end. It will lose a bit of traction as the wheels are not as close to the center of the car.

This is all I have of my 1.25" spacers....

May help a little...

Got to go to Maximum Motorsports for spacers from 1 " all the way to 1 7/8 "....
Machined aluminum from Germany, run around $150+.
I have had mine for 3+ years now, definately helped cornering stability. Ya gottado springs and shocks first though, or all you're doing is making the car look better...which is not a bad thing
