Wheel squeak / chirp

I have a wheel squeal/ chirp that is driving me crazy . Let me try to explain it.
When the car is rolling at almost any speed there is a squeak , a rolling "squeak squeak sqeuak" that can be heard. It sounds like its coming out of the rear, but I cant be 100%.
The one time it subsides a bit is when I brake. By rear pads are still good aswell as my disks.
Its driving me crazy and the one thing I can think of is maybee a barring back there?? I dont know - does any one have an experience like tis??????

I had that once, it was actually the spedometer cable. There is actually a physical cable that turns that runs from the transmission to the back of the speedometer. I just sprayed WD40 down the tube from the speedometer end.

yes... i have that experience.... every day i drive my car.

my pads/disc's are new... when i brake it goes away... man it's annoying.

I feel like my problem... my car is over 30 years old.. if it didn't squeak I'd be worried?

Lube the clip where each parking brake cable is bolted to the body ahead of each wheelwell. Pull the drums and put a dab of grease between each shoe and where it rubs against the backing plate.

My car has rear disks, and the the parking brake isnt connected. . .

Thought - IF my rear end is low on fluid- would it inturn effect my wheel bearing??? Or is it not lubricated from there????

These are things that are good to disclose in the first place. Look to see if your pads are worn down and the "squealer" is contacting the rotor. Also look to see if the rotor is contacting the caliper bracket.

And since you haven't said if the squeak is at wheel speed or faster than wheel speed, see if your parking brake cable assembly is rubbing on the driveshaft.

Mine does the same thing after I finish washing her. I just figured the rear disk brakes are squeaking for a bit until it dries. My E-brake doesn't have a working cable hooked up to it either.

Mine does the same thing. I realize it isn't a fox, but I have the same noise and it sounds like its coming from the rear. It's especially bad if I'm driving close to a curb or a cement barrier (reflects the sound into the cabin). I hope someone has an answer.

It almost sounds like a squeaky bicycle wheel where the rim is slightly bent and it touches the brake pad on each revolution. I have relatively new brakes that still have plenty of pad life left. I suppose it could be my MM control arms squeaking, it seems to do it worse when the road is bumpy.

I said that the noise is out of the rear, and that the disks and pads are new -referring to the rear

My 93 had a squeak as well, sprayed all the bushings down with WD40. Mine went away for a little bit than came back. Next I used process of elimination by doing one at a time, until I found the one .

My wheel bearings did the same thing. Sometimes it sounds like it is in the rear, but in many cases its actually the fronts

So I hate it when people make these types of threads and never give the results to what happend. With that said - UPDATE:

I enlisted my lady to help me with driving the car around and listen for exactly where the sound was coming out of - We concluded that the noise was in the right rear. So I took that tire off and started poking around. I noticed that the bolt for the bottom of the shock mount to the axel was loose. I tightend it, put the wheel back on - test drove it, and the noise went away

I dont know why the loose bolt translated into making that noise?? But it did . . .weird
