Okay I just got a new(used) set of rims for my coupe. They are the machinded 5-spoke 16x7.5s from a 99 v-6... any who, with my 73 9" thats slightly wider than the 67 8" i had I dont need spacers in the rear, but my studs are too short... Is this common?? I figure that the mounting flange on the aluminum rims is probably thicker than the steel rims but... do does anyone else had this problem? and does anyone know the size of the knrul so i can buy a set of longer studs???

Are you sure you don't need different lug nuts? Some wheels require specific lug nuts. I haven't ever run into this problem myself, with any of my wheels, but there are about a million different types of wheels out there.
