wheel studs??

can someone tell me where i can get wheel studs 1/2 inch longer than stock? without spending alot of money. maybe from a diffrent type of car.

not sure about that but i guess you are saying you don't want to go and buy moroso or arp wheel studs. i bought arp ones.

What part # studs did you get? I need studs about a 1/2" longer also. Im just not sure about the knurl size. I can mic over the actual knurl on the studs I popped out and I get .584 and I measure the preknurled part of the stud and I get .565 so im not real sure what dimension is the important one. I know they're 1/2"-20 studs but the knurl is killing me. Are the studs the same front to back because I havent popped off the drums yet?

you can't take them from another car without taking the whole axle. the knurls on the studs will already be crushed. so if you try to pop them out, they're useless.

Thread Size: 1/2-20 RH in.
Knurl Diameter: 0.615 in.
Underhead Length (in): 1.500 in . (stock length) they also have 3.000 in.

I used ARP studs and cut them down to a length I needed with a grinder. If you do that be sure not to heat them up too much and also thread a nut on BEFORE you cut them. I had a friend blow compressed air on it while I hit it with the grinder. Finally, file the end and then unthread the nut for a great functioning stud.

why not just buy the correct length to begin with?

Note to all in this thread.

This is harder to do than you would expect. I have yet to see a catalog that lists all the characteristics of the stud, length, thread, knurl diameter, etc, AND cross references Fox Mustangs. Jegs and Summit don't do it.

I too, have two packages of the wrong ones, after buying them on "good advice." Still working on this.

Ok heres the deal. The proper studs that require no drilling are these. Moroso part # 46185 Summit has them listed as part # MOR-46185. The knurl is .594" on those studs.

Ok, UPDATE! What I posted above stands true for the front studs but for the rear you'll need different studs. The correct studs for the rear are Moroso part #46180 or Summits part # is MOR-46180. Those are .615 diameter knurl and short length knurl so they won't hit the lug nuts when tightened.
