I will soon be in the market for wheels for my 02 GT. I want to upgrade the width...but I'm not sure how wide I should go if Ultimately I want to take my car to a road course a few times over the summer. Any Suggestions?

for road coursing, it would matter less how wide you go for wheels and more about the tires that you put on them.

17X9 all around would be a good setup. (17X8 is stock)

This will allow a nice sized 275/40 tire, which gives you plenty of selections in the tire market.
