When should you manually prime an engine

Ok folks, my wife brought a new baby into this world 16 weeks ago and my Mustang has been untouched in the garage ever since. That is almost four months... should I manually prime my engine before turning it over? If so, how do I do that?

I had just changed the oil and filter litterly the week-end before my daughter was born (if that makes any difference).

Many thanks

I would be more worried about sour gas and gummed up carb then priming the car. It should be fine to crank it a bit with the coil disconnected. This will get oil to the top end if you are worried about it. Then when you have fuel pressure up and carb bowl full fire it up. It should be fine.
