how do this look? i believe my pinion shim is .042"

I cant really detect a definite pattern??? Brush on your pattern grease across the entire face of the gear, then you get a better idea of the pattern..You used FRPP gears and the stock Trac-Loc, correct?? The factory pinion shim is more like .015
.042 is a huge dif if your running Ford gears...no wonder she's howling..:D

You can see its a very thin shim...Ford uses a "master set-up dim" so I would think you'd be in that ballpark shim wise...I take it thats not the shim that was behind the pinion bearing when it came off??

this is what my current wear pattern looks like the backlash is at .009 and pinion shim is .032 that .002 less then stock shim.

does it look good?

i could nt get the coast side towards the middle like i wanted.
