hey all,

well ive pretty much driven around the perimeter of saint louis today. i called oreilleys over the weekend and ordered front brake hoses for a 99, because the guy told me that their hoses come with the banjos. So i drive all the way out there (between 5 and 10 miles of gridlock, stop and go traffic) on the motorcycle to get them. i get there and lo and behold, hoses and copper washers, but no banjos. i thanked them for wastign my time and gas and headed to a nearby ford dealer. There i learned that they dont have any in stock, but can order them for the low low price of $26 EACH. HOLY CRAP! $52 for two BOLTS?!

so i would like some help finding what i need online. im on stangsuspension.com but they only have the coarse thread banjos, which wont fit my 99 calipers.

Does anyone know of a website where i can get what i need? If you have any laying around from an old brake job, please pm me!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

Was that the price of the fine ones?

Because i just bought a coarse one from Ford for $9.

Ford parts guy goes "Wow, we don't keep those in stock because i've never had to order one ever"

WTF...nobody ever loses a banjo bolt??

yeah, i beleive the 99 and 00s ( before the different spoiler, 9.4:1 CR, etc) had the fine thread banjos. in 01 i guess they retapped the calipers to accept the old 94-98 banjo??????? I thought i read on stangsuspension.com that the coarse threaded ones would go in a 94-98, and a 01-04 caliper. The 01-04s are the same twin piston aluminum PBR caliper as the 99 and 00, right???

yeah $26 each for the fines here in St Louis. He said the only dealer in missouri with one is in rolla, which is actually where i go to school, but they noly have 1 in stock lol.

i just wanna drive my car....

Posted via Mobile DeviceI will grab some from work and see if they fit the 99 up calipers i have at home. We machine and assemble all of the front brake assemblies for 300s, Chargers, Magnums, and SRT8 at my work. We have a few thousand banjo bolts here! I can mail you some if need be

Ok , here is what I have. Sorry it took so long to check this. They screw right into the 99 PBR calipers. They look considerably different but are close in length. The actual fluid opening is larger, but the SRT8 has a bigger caliper with more pistons., so its to be expected. They seem like they will work, I will mail you some if you still need them. Just let me know. Sorry for the crappy pic!!

I'd be worried about the piston hitting the protrusion sticking out at the end of the threads. When you push the pistons in on the PBR, you can see th episton is pretty much right at the bottom of the bolt hold. If you had brand new pads i don't think that bolt would work

The one on the left is off the 99 Mustang PBR's. The right is out of the SRT8. I called my local Advanced auto parts and they have them in stock for all mustangs. Where do you live that doesnt have them?
