Where is my overfill tank?

The car started overheating yesterday while I was stuck in no go traffic. It got up to around 230 to 240. It has an alum. ford racing radiatior, 180 deg. therostat so the cooling isn't a problem (side note: oil pressure dropped some while stuck). I got home and went looking under the hood to look for a problem and saw that I don't have an overfill tank. The hose leaves the radiator, points down, and that is the end of it.

Is anyone else running this type of setup? I'm sure I need one, any advice on a good place to get one? Any pics of where they go? It doesn't look like I have room.

I currently have no puke tank either, but I'll be getting one from Canton racing pretty soon, I wanna say it's like $80, but it mounts in the stock place (directly to the driver side of the fan housing or shroud), and takes the stock low coolant sensor as well...and it's pretty!

If you don't have an overflow, make sure you cap the overflow hose! All it's doing is when it gets warm, it's puking all the coolant on the ground! lol... I bet the radiator is quite low, and is causing it to overheat.

Yeah, it was kinda low and this is why I started looking a little deeper. I'll plug it until I get a tank.

www.50resto.com has them, and the caps... I got one cause mine was broke (very common problem)... Looks good.

Don’t plug your radiator overflow line. It is better to run with 3/4 full radiator than to over pressure the system and blow a hose.

If you are really hard up for a place to put an overflow, I have heard of people using their windshield washer fluid reservoir. Not sure if the ones on the Mustangs can handle the temperature or not.

agreed....mine doesn't seem to puke at all...I've seen people use a 20oz soda bottle at the strip before

...but don't let that become a permanent fix

I've left mine plugged for weeks until I got my overflow tank... Just... uh... don't overheat it and it'll be fine. Get a real temp gauge if you don't have one and you'll be just fine.
