Ha - I know whatcha mean - it makes you feel kinda useless when you cant whip out the grease gun.
I normally just give things a once over (I still pull wheels to check for slop, etc) and just do a visual check (as I know you do). But I cant think of a whole lot that you can do, greasing wise. I cant say that I'm disappointed (I cut my teeth on old stuff).

The double sump pan is for the oil pickup in the front - they've been around for a bit.
I'm gonna toss a gopher out for future searchers. Some of the fox dipsticks were indeed known to be mismarked from the factory. Most of us have etched a new mark to represent full. I havent heard of that being an issue on 94-95's.
And don't feel bad - lookin for a second drain plug isn't exactly intuitive (it's a good idea to check for two on any sumped oil pan).
