I'm looking at buying the Hooker L/T headers because you dont have to remvoe them when changing out the clutch. But i need to know where i can get a Catted H-Pipe that will fit them or do i have to have one custom made?
if you want an h pipe, it will have to be custom made or an existing one will have to be cut and slip fit connectors welded on...this slip fit connection is the reason these headers don't have to be removed when doing clutch/tranny work

I believe the header collector is a little bit larger in diameter and slides over the x pipe...the two are bonded together with some sort of exhaust glue...I am sure someone else can give you a more technical answer, but this is basically it.
Sorry Millatime, but I think you've got it all wrong.
OK, the reason that you don't have to remove the Hookers headers when pulling the trannie is because they are spread out more than any other design. This is also why no other H or X pipe (other than Hooker's own X) will work without modification. Notice in the pic below how wide the top of the X is. The trannie and even the bellhousing can come out without removal of the headers.
My question is why cats? These headers are likely not going to pass emission testing, but if you want cats to cut down on the tone a bit, either you'll need a custom mid pipe made or have cats added to the Hooker X pipe.
This is a good question, as Hookers are on my wish list, and I want cats just to keep the noise level down to a tolerable level.
