I am switching my car back to 19# injectors from the 24# setup on it now. I tossed out the old pintle cap injectors a while back and I want to go with the more efficient and newer 4 hole type. Would like to have the skinny EV1 type like the explorers and had but would be fine with the bosch style 4 holes. Problem is I see a lot of them for sale on Amazon and other places that are off brands. I Have bought a set before for a later model mustang and they were horrible. I had to send them back because the car would idle but not drive. Reviews on all of those are hit and miss. I could spend top dollar and get some from LMR. But has anyone had any luck buying them from somewhere for a descent price? I could swing by a salvage one day and pull some from an explorer but if I can get some new ones I would like to do that. Let me know some experiences and or opinions on this.

I used an as pulled set from the wreckers (when was the last time a vehicle got scrapped because the injectors failed).

I use rockauto for cross reference information all the time (it is my go to source actually). I just looked up 1996 Explorer injectors - they are EV1 style (same as stock Mustang) and showed this as a cross reference for the same injector:

FORDCONTOUR1998-1999
FORDCROWN VICTORIA1998
FORDE-3501997-1999
FORDEXPLORER1996-1998
FORDF-350 SUPER DUTY1999
FORDF-450 SUPER DUTY1999
FORDF-550 SUPER DUTY1999
FORDTHUNDERBIRD1995-1997
LINCOLNTOWN CAR1995-1998
MERCURYCOUGAR1995-1997
MERCURYGRAND MARQUIS1998
MERCURYMOUNTAINEER1997-1998
MERCURYMYSTIQUE1998-1999

I would look for them in any of these vehicles.

The 99-01 V8 Explorers have same injectors but use the EV6 plug. I recently pulled a set of GT40P heads from an '01 Explorer and it had EV6 plugs on the injectors, so I can personally verify it.

I just bought a set of new Bosch Gen III EV6 injectors from Five0 Motorsport. Really happy with them so far, newer technology and have the Jetronic plug so plug right into Fox harness. They are a reputable company and sell genuine Bosch, no knockoffs.

I pulled a set from a big merc at the salvage this weekend. Cleaned them up good and they seem to run fine.
