Everywhere I look, I manage to find aluminum driveshafts that say for manual trans only. Does anyone know where I can manage to find an aluminum driveshaft for a 98 gt automatic? Thanks for the input.
brothersperformance.com. I have the new catalogue and it has: 1996-2004 Ford Motorsport Heavy Duty Lightweight Aluminum Driveshaft Assembly part# FMM4602J for $189.99. It states that it comes complete w/ Ujoints and yokes and is fully balanced. Hope this helps. BTW It says for 5-speeds AND automatics
From Website:
Super strong lite-weight Aluminum design.
Increases performance by reducing rotational inertia.
Fully assembled and balanced.
Complete with u-joints and yokes.
Direct bolt on- no modifications.
Fits 5-Speed only. <-------------------------------------------!!!!!!!!!!!
Price increase on driveshafts as of 4-10-04
Ford increased prices due to new supplier
ooooopps, my bad, didn't know, I just stated it out of the catalogue, I didn't take the liberty of checking the website. But it did say 5 speed and automatic, I don't know what happened. Sorry....

Someone else posted that they used the aluminum driveshaft for manual transmissions on their automatic. To make it work, they simply used the original yokes. Do a search; I am sure that you will find the post.
If you buy an FRPP aluminum DS, they only come with a transmission yoke for a manual trans. You will have to press out the u-joints and swap your automatic transmission yoke. If you want to buy a DS already set up, you will need to go to a drive train specialty shop such as Strange Engineering.
