I am installing C/C plates and I'm looking to replace the nut pictured below and circled in red. I checked my local fastener store but they do not carry them. They said in order to get them from their supplier they would have to order 500. Has anyone replaced this nut with something in stainless, and if so, where did you get it? It is a metric flange nut in size 16 with a standard thread pitch. I would like a flange nut instead of just a regular stainless nut and washer. Thanks!

The nearest Home Depot is 1.5 hours from me. We do have a Lowe's though. I will check there if I have no luck elsewhere.

If lowes dont work for you..

I goto home depot often for work(everyday or so), so next time im in ill bring one of my stock strut tower bolts and see what they have. If they have anything good ill buy em and post some pics, i can send them ur way if you want.

Hey yea, that would be great! I was thinking that Lakewood and KYB's struts may use a different shaft size than stock. Maybe this is why they include a new nut?

I didnt think finding a stainless metric flange nut would be this tough. :bang:

They are the same.. I actually put the stock nut on not thinking, then noticed they gave me a new one, so i switched it out.

And 1.5 hours away! Where do you live? rural? Man theres 4 within 30 mins from my house! and one of them is 5 mins away.

Home Depots aren't real popular around central IL. We have Lowes, Menards, and various smaller places that carry the same items, such as ACE, Fastenal, etc.

But yea I do live in BFE. Most of the people that live here think the whistling coming from my car is a bad power steering pump...lol
