I am installing C/C plates and I'm looking to replace the nut pictured below and circled in red. I checked my local fastener store but they do not carry them. They said in order to get them from their supplier they would have to order 500. Has anyone replaced this nut with something in stainless, and if so, where did you get it? It is a metric flange nut in size 16 with a standard thread pitch. I would like a flange nut instead of just a regular stainless nut and washer. Thanks!

Well if we can get 250 people that need them I can go ahead and order the 500.

I guess I will just have to use a nut and a washer. I thought the flange nut would look better though.

I can't believe there isn't a better looking nut. Guess I gotta buy new ones at the dealer and paint them.

I was going to try that but I figured the paint would not last long when I torqued the nut.

Check at autozone. I just saw that they had shiny (possibly stainless), either flanged nuts or bolts. I didn't really look at them, but I did notice they were flanged.

Well I emailed 4 LARGE distributors of fasteners, so maybe I can find some. Two of these places said specifically that they do not require a minimum to be bought.

My lakewood struts came with new ones as well.

Did you try home depot? They have a real nice nut/bolt isle.

The nearest Home Depot is 1.5 hours from me. We do have a Lowe's though. I will check there if I have no luck elsewhere.

Hey yea, that would be great! I was thinking that Lakewood and KYB's struts may use a different shaft size than stock. Maybe this is why they include a new nut?

I didnt think finding a stainless metric flange nut would be this tough.

They are the same.. I actually put the stock nut on not thinking, then noticed they gave me a new one, so i switched it out.

Home Depots aren't real popular around central IL. We have Lowes, Menards, and various smaller places that carry the same items, such as ACE, Fastenal, etc.

But yea I do live in BFE. Most of the people that live here think the whistling coming from my car is a bad power steering pump...lol

You mean a nut? Are they just like the stock ones except stainless?
