Does anyone know where i can find the nmra license plate frame that says "hell yes i street race". i cant find it on the nmra website. Also since im sure if that is technical or not has anyone actually felt a difference after installing a cold air kit. Just wondering if its actually worth the $150.

way to make it tech

Try Ebay for the plate frame. I think the NMRA has discontinued the plate due to the bad PR that it was.

For the Cold Air, there are many threads debating this. Personally I think that they do a better job at keeping the airflow smooth than the factory corrugated tubing. As for how much power is it good for on a stock engine? Probably not much. If you still want one, I bought mine from a company called x3racing on Ebay ($50 shipped).

My buddy said the only difference he noticed was that when he started it up it seemed to make that gurgle noise a little more then usual.

I bought my CAI from Chris (BlackVert) for like 30 bucks, and it helped throttle response, I could feel a difference.

My car was also running rich though, and I think the CAI leaned it out some.

someone told me that if you make a homemade cai that the materials are cheaper and can ignite. but i also have to consider the source, that guy is an idiot.

I will be testing this out in a week or so. I'm waiting on new tires and to finish my DIY CAI. After i get it done I'm going to go and datalog the ACT then swap to the CAI and log more and see if the heat soak is bad or not.

For the plate frame, can't help ya...

Although I got a good laugh this mornign when I saw a mid 80's (or so) corolla on chopped springs (bounced everywhere and was sooo low) with a sticker that said "will race for food"...

Well I schooled that boy in my pickup truck...
