I did the aod to t5 swap back in august, now I'm having issues with grinding in thrid gear as well as the tranny getting stuck in thrid gear. The tranny was supposed to have been rebuilt...but depending on the defintion.....
So now I'm thinking of rebuilding it myself, never have done it, i am mechanically inclined but scared to drop money into it, only to screw myself more in the end. So right now I'm looking at my options which are basically:
Pay to have my existing tranny rebult
Do it myself......but I fear the cost of the tools I will need will make it not worth it.
Or just get a rebuilt one from summit or someplace, but thats $$$$$$$ Especially since I'll put a new clutch in right away.
I'm a college student, and the stang is the only means of transportation, so it is kind of important that I get this done quicker then normal.
What places sell a rebuilt tranny for a good price?
