Where to get thrmostat housing o-ring?

I have the thermostat housing with the o-ring in it and can’t find a new o-ring anywhere. It's a Ford part but there's only one dealership that still sells Ford Motorsport in this area and I don’t want to drive that far. Every place says they will probably be able to just match one up but I didn't want to take it apart yet until I know I can get another one. Is there a car that uses the same gasket that I could go ask for? Mine currently leaks....If I were to use some gasket sealer should I put it on the actual o-ring or just around the outside of the o-ring?

Yes I tried NAPA and the guy knew what I was talking about but no one there knows how to get a part unless it’s from a specific car so he tried to look up a 98 truck with a 351 but it still uses a paper gasket. He looked in another book but couldn’t find anything. I think there is a place here that sells Mr. Gasket. I'll have to see if I can find a part number before I go since no one seems to know how to look anything up properly.

No, don't use gasket sealer on an o-ring. You are best off to go to someplace like Home Depot where you should be able to match the o-ring up. Also while there, pick up a small tube of o-ring lubricant. Don't use anything else on an o-ring including vasoline, as it will cause the o-ring to start breaking down.

Well I just looked up the Mr. Gasket site. I forgot the O-ring is a 2 piece one. A big ring and then a small ring attatched to it for the bypass hose, I think. No one will be able to just match that up. I can't find just that gasket on their site, only the whole kit #2662.
