My 418 is kicking my cooling fan's ass. I'm going to get a viper gen 2 and the dealers are $225 and pdi is $200. Anyone know of any cheaper places?

That is the best way to do it though. With that fan and controller on there, the fan should not need to be worried about.
Piecing together relays, a controller, etc can cost almost the same as that variable unit.

I dont have the cash for the fan and controller right now. And I need it asap so I can get to work ect. I can't wait 10 days for the guy to ship it.

If you buy a regular controller, it'll nickel and dime you to death with the extra relays you have to buy, diodes, wiring, connectors, etc. I just returned a setup I had planned out and went with the DCC unit. I had already reached 100 bucks just on the relays and fan controller.
You're running a viper fan, which I don't know off-hand what the amp draw is, but I'd imagine is close if not more than the Mark VIII fan. Hope your charging system is in good shape.
Guess since you need it asap you'll probably end up running it to a switch. Just make sure you take precautions, fuses, relays, so you don't burn up that nice new 200 dollar fan. I think I would've grabbed a Mark VIII fan for 100, and the dcc for 100. Just my worthless .02.

If not using a the Delta unit, a 75 amp Bosch relay should probably be used at a min (20-30 bucks probably - Sgarlic might know better than I). And you could just run it manual for a bit (I know you watch the gauges and settings like a hawk).

I have some extra 50a relays and 2 different controllers. My ccrm is on it's way out so I have relays wired in to the stock plug to kick on high speed and let the computer sill control it.
The viper fan flows 4000cfm and it takes 25-30a to get it going and a continuous draw of 11a.

Those specs are what I recall Ponyboy (or whoever it was) quoting some time ago. Nice draw numbers vs CFM.

It's a really efficient fan for how much cfm it pulls and for how thin it is. I cut off the original 3 wire connector(you only need 2 of them) and used blade connectors and taped them up good. I think it is the middle one which isnt used(black w/red stripe) the two fatter(10ga.) wire are the high hot(black w/yellow stripe) and ground. You will need a spacer because the fan center does protrude past the shroud. I went to OSH and picked up some aluminum 1 inch flat(for the top) and 1 1/2 inch flat(for the bottom) and some 1/4 inch aluminum triming i believe. This was enough for me to mount it to the edge of my griffin... filled it up nicely too. This leaves about 1/4 inch... maybe a little less... to your water pump pulley bolts with the 3 inch radiator. There is a bit of fabrication to get this thing mounted right so its probably the least easy fan to mount out there. As for an overflow, I bought the canton one made for the foxes and bolted it directly to the shround using some spacers and a little trimming. In the SN95 body you should have more room to play with.
