Where to mount BOV?

you got it way backwards there man, you don't want the back pressure running into the turbo, because it slows it down.

as far as best placement, that is a big debate. but I will tell you this, the majority of factory turgocharged engines that have a valve, has the valve between the turbo and the intercooler.

Only problem is that it is close to $1000, I chose to go with this route, I love it! :nice:

When you use a BOV vented to atmosphere it releases measured air out of the intake, but the computer still thinks it is getting that air into the engine. The only real drawback to the BOV is that the spring tension has to be as tight as possible, so the car will not stall from loosing TOO much air, this means not as much pressure can be released from the BOV as opposed to being adjusted real loose.

Good info but that's not really why they run ****ty. If that were the case then ALL BOV's would make it run like ****.

The reason the BOV's that aren't a dual piston design run like **** is because they come open under part throttle conditions. This causes a huge vacuum leak at part throttle. This also lets unfiltered air into your engine (here comes the dirt).

Well, since they rely on vacuum or boost on both sides of the diaphragm to stay closed, when there isn't much of either (part throttle) it opens up. Nothing "confused" it just acts as it's supposed to (for non-metered air systems).

I kinda agree with stinger, every now and then I don't go in a straight line. :D you either don't drive in the rain, or are really good at avoiding tree's while oversteering.

P.S.- Does anyone know if the Apexi twin chamber BOV's are good?

I bought my Apexi BOV already with a 1G Eclipse flange from some guy in Japan. Paid it 100 bucks shipped and it's in great shape.
After I bolted it on it was a nightmare . Major stalling and back firing issues for days. Eclipse bov was not giving me that much problems for crying out loud.

Finally I'm happy to say it works better now.Idles same as before and no more stalling issues. BOV was set too soft.I tighten the screw on top just a little. About 2 more turns to be exact.
I'm not too happy about half throtle, but It can hold boost like crazy. My old 1G EClipse bov was leaking after 15 psi.

My exhaust still backfires ,but not as bad as before. It seems like My Bird loves when I keep it all way to floor..hehehe..jus kidding. I don't push it like crazy.. I play with my turbo...and then whooooosh past them . :cool:
