Where to put jack for LT install?

Is it ok to undo the motor mounts and put a jack with a 2x4 on the joint of the tranny & engine? I dont feel comfortable putting it on the balancer or oil pan.

I DEFINATELY dont think you want to put it on the balancer.

You can use the balancer or between the trans and motor. The only thing with using the balancer is sometimes the wood can slip out and cause the motor to fall. DONT USE THE OIL PAN! It is too thin and will bend...trust me, I have done it. Your best bet would be to suspend the motor from the top of the car. Just my $.02
