So lets make some public guesses on where Jr. will end up for the 2008 season. We all know he has the skillz, but which team will offer him a package Jr. feels he can contend for a championship with? Is there a chance he'll just build his own team under his JR Motorsports banner or go with a big name established team? Will he end up driving a Ford?

Personally I think he'll end up at RCR.

Choose one of the public poll options above or post your 2 cents as to where you think he'll end up and we'll see if we can predict the future for little "E".

U.M.

He wants to win so I imagine he'll end up with RCR. I don't think he'll want to build his own company but it is just my opinion.

I'll follow Nascar [again] next year once he deceides where to call home.

I would think RCR, but with the talks of him "not following in his father's shadow", I can see him going elsewhere. He wants to win. What better place to do that then at HMS?

I read that article yesterday about KyBu, and even though he drove the #5 Lowe's car in the Busch series, I can't really say I like him at all. He's a douchebag and has proven it this year. With that crap he pulled at Texas..... I say let KyBu go and make room for Jr

One thing I can't wait to see is when he gets a new number :rlaugh: It'll be just like that commerical, 6.5 :rlaugh: You'll see all these beat up pickup trucks with old worn out 8 stickers and it'll be some other guy driving the car for DEI :D

RCR is his only logical choice. If he starts up JR motorsports and does the owner/driver deal he'll end up like Michael Waltrip. I doubt he will start off with the 3 though. Its gonna suck not seeing him in the 8:(

I was thinking RCR would be the automatic choice, but after hearing some of the talk during the All-Stars race, I think I'm gonna pick Joe Gibbs racing. If he wants to make a completely clean break, I think it would be best for him to get away from anything associated with his dad.

JR fans and Stewart fans united...not sure about that

Once again, leaving RCR out because of his dad it's either going to be Hendrick or Gibbs. Both have won Championships and that's what Jr. wants. If you had to choose between Hendrick and Gibbs my personal choice would be Gibbs as the lesser of two evils. I HATE Gordon and Johnson. And I just looked up Chip Ganassi racing. His drivers completely suck. Forget that. And Jr. owning his own team would be a disaster. Too much B.S. work behind the scenes to concentrate on racing. That's my worthless conclusion.

Hendrick already said he didn't have any room for Jr., so I'd assume that's a no go. I don't think Stewart and Jr. would work all that well together.

I still think it'll be RCR, I know Harvick will try his best to get Jr. to be his teammate. Harvick could always expand into the cup cars himself and add Jr. as his cup driver.

Two teams that UM didn't mention that would be kind of cool would be Jr. driving either the #21 Wood Brothers car or the #43 Petty car.

Never for the Wood Brothers even though they had this list of men that drove for them:

  • Curtis Turner
  • Tiny Lund
  • Fireball Roberts
  • Bob Welborn
  • Dale Jarrett
  • A.J. Foyt
  • Glen Wood
  • Buddy Baker
  • Marvin Panch
  • Junior Johnson
  • Cale Yarborough
  • Ned Jarrett
  • Fred Lorenzen
  • David Pearson
  • Joe Weatherly
  • Ralph Earnhardt
  • Neil Bonnett
  • Ricky Rudd

The last time Petty won was in 1979. For that matter the last time RCR won was in 1994 with Dale.

Stewart and Jr not working well together? Aren't they dancing partners at plate tracks? Their fans are VERY similar... seems like they WOULD work well together.

I read another article that stated if Jr did his own team, HMS would help with cars, motors and etc. Sorta like what htey are doing with Hass (or whoever) racing.

Why leave out Ginn racing? Look what Martin has done in that car. Granted, he's a much better driver then Jr (hey, years of experience!), Jr could easily slide into that car and do well.

Will Gibbs accept Budweiser? Gibbs also said that it could take a few years to get a 4th team up to speed.

I dunno.. It's anyones guess what'll happen here
