Help me decide on a cam. I just put a deposit on a 306 long block. Which cam will work best with Performer RPM heads? No emissions testing in FL, so I'm not concerned with it being 'street legal'. So far the E-cam and the Trick Flow Stage 1 has been recommended. Which cam would you guys use? I'm not really interested in a custom cam, too much money.

I'm also getting the RPM heads soon. I also have the RPM intake to match. I just ordered the Comp Cams XE270HR. Power band from 1800-5800. Perfect....for me anyways.

I agree with that comp 270xe cam with a 1.7 rocker for .544" lift. My friend has a close combo with that cam, new edel performer heads, tfs street intake with junk shorty headers and made 323hp/348tq. he does have around 10.5:1 and some minor bowl work on the heads, no porting though. Longtubes would help him so much.

Runs like a bat sounds damn fine..I used scorpion 1.6RR and love it..less the ticked offf computer fighting me every second over where she's going to Idle. Power is strong with that combo and pulls nice to 6000 clean.

Wow! The first three replies are for the same cam. How much does this cam cost?

Well if your thinking about an alphabet cam (B)...they run around $180 or so right? A custom is just $140 away?...it would be much better for you in overall performance of the car...just an idea...

If you want less computer/vacuum problems get the cam with the 14 LSA instead of the 12 LSA.
