The Lancia Delta Integrale HF sounds cool. Its an italian car, I had one while I was stationed in Italy. The airbox is tuned with the exhaust ~ and with that being said... I am ford all the way, always have been but I didnt want to drop 25 to 30G on a mustang while stationed overseas (as an E-3), plus Insurance is INSANE over there, so i paid 2500 on a used 91 Integrale and it weighed about as much as a vw gulf but had around 250 hp factory. The cool thing is, the air box inlet which was sort of restrictive used to whistle when the boost kicked in (it was designed to do that), it ran factory at approx 1.5 bar which is around 20 lbs of boost, and the exhaust which was by no means a rice can sounded pretty good, plus I put an external BOV on it, and it just sounded mean.
I had a friend who had an integrale with an evoluzion motor with a manual boost controller pushing almost 30 psi on a stock bottom end, and it would do AWD burn outs all day long, it was amazing. The power to weight ratio was SICK!
They are fun cars, they sound cool, they used to own the rally races from 88 thru 92/93, but most of all their fun to drive, unfortunatly you cant get them here in the states.
My buddy had an 01 Mustang GT (True Blue) with an O/R H-Pipe, stock exhaust manifolds, and Flowmaster Cat-Back, Underdrive pulley's, and thats about it. The Integrale used to show him up pretty good, (Mustangs are a dime a dozen here in America, but being overseas, every time we went to lignano beach, Lamborghini's, Porche's and Ferrari's parked around him, lol... American muscle cars are rare in Europe...).
He ended up getting out of the Air Force, moved back home to FLA, and sold his car. Approx 6 mo later, I came back from Italy and bought my 04 GT, and he had bought BBK LT Headers for his car but never had a chance to put them on, so he sold them to me for $300. They are ceramic coated headers which he paid around $600, but hooked me up because he's a car guy and knew that i couldnt afford new ones at the time. Thats what friends do, ya know. I wish I could let him drive my car now with the Kenne Bell, because he was one of my trainers / mentors, and its always cool to show people what they taught you mechanically.
