which differental do i want?

The Auburn Gear type LSD would also get my vote. But you really should call the folks at auburn and talk to them to see for yourself.

The part I like most about Auburn is you have a choice of 28T or 31T. I went with 28T so I could retain my stock axles (I don't drag race so I shouldn't ever break them)

I like the idea of the auburn gear type differentals, but my question would then have to be, are they noisy like ive heard the detroits being?
and also should i spend the extra money on the pro series over the standard gear type diffs? jegs has the pro for $435 and the standard for $383.

Not very noisy in my car... But with the top down on and the exhaust roaring, is anything really noisy in my car? I can't even hear the radio.

I went with the standard unit but I do not plan for any racing. Just lots of hard corners and the occasional blast from 0 to the speed limit as fast as possible.

Limited Slip allows both tires to spin when straight line acceleration is needed while still being able to "open" up around corners.

A locker, simply locks both of the driven wheels together all the time. (Think of an old 4x4 in 4 low on conctrete)

I'd go with the 31 spline Ford Traction lock. They are easily rebuilt, and even my 15 year old 7.5 SVO unit still spins both drag radials nicely. I'm going with that in the next upgrade of the 8.8 have for the car, until I get to the spool.

I think Auburn has a good replacement program with theirs, if you ever wear it out.

The Powertrax units look like a good drop in upgrade for these also. I was thinking of one for my F150.

Go 31 spline.

I have the auburn and have been beating on it for i'd say 8 years or so.
But seems not everyone gets that much time.

An eaton is stronger and rebuildable.
But is quite a bit more money.
