I need to know what is going to give me the most power and fastest quarter mile times. im going to list all the parts i have. Can you guys please tell me what to do.

-302 block or 306 block
-NX nitrous, or a powerdyne supercharger (6 psi)
-F303 or B303 Cam
-351 heads or stock 302 heads
-19 or 30 lb injectors
-GT40 or Trickflow street heat upper and lower

Can you guys tell me what combination will be the best? Thanks,

Brent

Going fast down the track isn't about having the biggest parts... It's about having the right combination. If you can drive, have a great suspension setup and a few bolt-on's you can hit the 13's.

You really need to decide what type of power adder you want to run before most people will comment. NOS is good, but it's not a full time thing and you'll end up wanting to drive around with it on all the time. S/C's are nice but you'll need a good tune to get the most bennifit out of the set up.

If you run a S/C you won't want to use a cam that has a lot of overlap (the S/C will blow your fuel out the exhaust)

If you run NOS you will want a little overlap to help scavange the mixture into the combustion chamber.

Buy a decent set of aftermarket heads and you won't have to worry about assembling the springs, valves and retainers.

Rockers, lifters and pushrods are pretty easy to install. Rockers need to be toqured properly, but it's not hard to do. The lifters just drop into the bores.

Pick power adder, then that will determine which cam and what size injectors. I'd use the Trickflow intake...the GT40 ain't that great. Definatley use the 351W heads, and porting them would help a LOT.
302/306......Potate-o/Potato

Edit: I've seen people run low 13s/very high 12s on a bone stock 5.0 with headers...it's all in the suspension setup!

You questions are too general. Do you want to have the power all the time with a superharger or just on demand with the nitrous? You have to tell us where you want to be in order for us to offer an opinion on how to get there. Plus we need to know if you are anti this or that. Some guys hate the alphabet cams & won't run them, others hate NOS, some guys are strickly natural aspiration or nothing (that's me ), still others are die hard Vortech or Procharger guys.

You really need to asses what you want to run and see what you need to make your entire combo work to deliver that goal. What kind of budget do you have? Do you already haev parts or are you startign from scratch with a totally clean sheat of paper (so to speak)?

I already have all of those parts. What i ran this year is in my sig. I have two cars...one with a charger and one with nitrous, but i have both of them stripped down and all the parts that i listed are laying around. I want to know what parts i should use together if i were to build a supercharged engine, and what parts i should use together if i were to build a nitrous engine. thanks,

Brent
