Which ford oval emblem for hatch?

I need to buy a new ford oval emblem for the hatch on my 88, I need to know what size exactly to buy. I trashed mine awhile ago because it was nasty looking. Or what other emblem will go well on the hatch?

personally i would fill the holes and shave it bbut i think it is 2 1/2 inchs, or you could get a steda or extra 5.0 emblem on the back

I think its atleast 4 inches or more, I have a 3 1/2 inch spare emblem thats to small. There are a few sizes and I would like to know which one it is. I was thinking of a nice emblem like a running pony or something.

running pony would look nice thats the only emblem i have. mmmmm stalker front end i like my car clean though no clutter

go to www.50resto.com and check their list of Ford Oval emblems. They have a listing for each year foxbody and the oval that will fit. Order one from them. I think it's only $10 and it's got adhessive on the back for simple application.

That is what she said.

To actually add something constructive, 50resto would probably know exactly what size it is and have a new one waiting to be shipped.

the sizes are different from 83-87 and 88-93 50resto them and heres a link

$18.95 + shipping, Ya right! Thats why I need to know what size it is so I can get a nice one from ebay. Thats just too much for my car, I am only going to spend around $10 at the most for this little ford emblem. Thanks for the link help but I had allready looked there. i just did 3.5" but you say its not...I just did and I have an 88 just like you...

Thats wierd, ya its definitly not the 3.5 inch one, I have a 3.5 one that came off my sisters broken escort, and its way to small. Thanks for measuring it though

Mines is 3.5" on my '88 as well.

I think my '03 has a 3.5" as well

Ok good I'm not the only one, but I looked it up in my shop manual and it says is 3.5"

I have a brand new one from ford that is exactly 4" The part number on the bag says E8FZ-5842528-C

There is also a stick on it from the place I bought it from, that says it's for '88-89 and that it is 3". It's 4" I measured it. Still unopened on the orginal Ford bag.

FYI I got one for my '87 GT hatch off a junkyard Taurusdecklid. Fit mine like the orginal did.

I have the one off my '88 before the repaint. The part number on it is E8EB-5842550-BA

It actually measures 4", not 3.5" like i said before. It's 1.6" tall and has three .5" pegs on the back

I have one here too. Its 4" long and has two pegs on the back. Viewed from the back, the one on the left is 3/16" wide and the other is 1/8". They measure
1 7/8" outside to outside across the two. Its plastic, I dont know what it came off of, but if you want it I will ship it to you for free. It was given to me and I am not going to use it.
