I'd appredciate it if folks could tell me why they are recommending the ones they are as well as what they offer over the competition & what their experience has been with whatever units they have used.

I have an MSD system: 6AL, billet distributor, coil, wires. The only real issue I have had is the ignition module and the distributor pick up. The ignition module went out and I had to replace it. Then about a year later the magnetic pick up went out and I had to dissassemble the distributor and replace the pick up as well.

ford coil on plug!

With a little homework you could use a ford coil on plug ignition. off a newer mustang. The ignition in the newer mustangs is VERY hot!

Having had my MSD distributor crap out right after the warranty expired, I would not recommend one.

Mallory is probably one of the top systems out there.

MSD was on top when they were made in US. If you can find an older MSD used, get that.

I'm leaning towards a Mallory system, but I'm not sure which one I should go with.
