Which longtube headers do you guys prefer for you 5.0l? Mac Longtubes or BBK longtubes? I noticed on this site that the majority doesn't favore either one. Which make more power? I noticed the design is different also. Oh, and could I live with the non-ceramic coated headers or is it best to shell out the extra cash? I don't really care about how nice they look b/c they are hard to see anyway. Will non-ceramics last me a long time?

If I remember correctly, the ceramic coated ones have better heat transfer, so they allow the O2 sensors to heat up enough. I have heard about problems with non-ceramic ones.

Do a search on this forum or the 5.0L Tech section. There have been tons of threads concerning this.

Check the reviews section here on stangnet. I've heard problems with both headers fitting up. I would go with the ceramic coating, my ceramic coated headers still look new after 1.5 years, and that was with driving through snow and salt for 3 months.

I had MAC LTs since 1998. They were great, but after many mods my engine bay would start to cook. My motor mounts started to melt!! The finish on the MACs do not last long enough. I put on BBK ceramic LTs, the fit is great and the look is great.... oh and it reduced my engine bay temps dramatically. Hope this helps.

MAC has a nice ceramic coated long tube for 94-95's, but every place I checked has them on back order for over a month.
