Which nuts and washers with lift plate?

I've never pulled an engine before. Got a used lift plate, cherry picker, and engine stand for cheap. Right now the lift plate is bolted down with the nuts and washers that had been holding down the carb. They seem small to me, should I be using something beefier?

That's what we use to pull a big block chevy in our race car. I also used it when I put the cleveland in my 67. Just make sure the threads are good in the manifold and use as much of them as possible. You can always use a bigger washer to cover more of the slot if you want.

I've R&R'ed this motor, heavy arsed scattershield, and transmission numerous times using a homemade motor plate and stock carb hardware with zero issues:

your set up is plenty strong for what you want to do.
