Well I'm changing exhausts again and am tired of the chambered sound. I'm 100% sold on the regular magnaflow catback along with an O/R x pipe. Should I get the magnaflow x or go for the bassani?

Also, how loud will it be compared to an O/R H ad flowmaster 40's? I'm assuming pretty close.

a true X, not magnaflow or bassani. dont get me wrong, they both make good products. but if you want the most out of it, get a true x.

True X's:

UPR
SLP
VRS
Dr. Gas
Mustang Tuning (i think)

I'd go mustangtuning x. I had it on my old car with 2 chamber catback. It sounded awesome, none of the rasp that people talk about with x-pipes and chambered mufflers. Id say switch the midpipe and if you still don 't like it, then switch out the catback. Might save you some $$.

Yea, I've read a lot of good things here on UPR and Dr. gas but what seperates them from magnaflow or bassani? Is it sound or performance? I'm mostly after the best sounding X, fitting and quality are also factors.

Also, again can someone compare the loudness of the magnaflow C/B with an O/R X vs. flowmaster 40's with an O/R H? I've owned the latter but have never heard the former in person. But I love the magnaflow sound clips on mustang exhaust.com.

Yeah, I'm actually switching out my magnaflow mufflers for some mac flow paths. I want the chambered sound again and the prochamber and magnaflows just aren't loud enough.

I haven't heard both exhaust side by side but it "seemed" like the off-road x w/ magnaflows was a bit louder than the off-road h and flows. It could just be because I heard the magnaflows about a month ago and the flows and an h about a year ago.

I have an O/R H with the Magnaflow CB. Love the sound, nice and deep and loud when you want it. I had an O/R H with 2 Chamber Flows on my 96' GT and it was a great sound as well, as well as louder. Not sure about the 40's though.

I have VRS O/R with Magnaflow CB. It sounds badass IMO. It's pretty loud but nothing obnoxious. Very little drone also; actually less than Magnaflow with stock mid-pipe.

I have an o/r h with mine but going with a DR gas o/r x as I have heard them on the DOHC's and they sound nice. The thing with exhaust is like many other things in performance, oils, fluids, etc...it's whatever you like the most.

See my sig, I have both MagnaFlow parts. Why spend the extra $ to get the Bassani cat-back? The Magnaflow is a bit quieter than the Flowmasters. Less drone too. When you open it up it will really scream.

UPR! I have one practically new. Maybe 3,000 miles on it before I switched to headers. Let me know if you're interested. $100 shipped.
