What oil pump should i get for my 351w 40 over?Should i order a standard volume or a high volume pump? peace

I've read that sometimes a high volume will empty the pan too fast.

What's the reason for the high vol pumps?

Got Melling HV's in two 302's. One, with 95k miles, still has good oil pressure, and one with 10k miles. The second one, I assembled, with clearances on the tight side. With 10w40 it will peg the gage at cold startup. So I went to 10w30 and its better. Will use the std pump on the next one.

Recommend the standard pump.
