i know by putting 1.7rr on a stock cam will increase the lift to 480, will the idle still stay the same or will it be a little choppy. will it be worth putting thoes rockers on my car will there be a noticeable difference.

is there any special mods i got to do if i buy the for install. like shims, longer pushrods, will the springs bind up, taller valve covers?

and who has them on a stock cam and if u like them?

They won't change the idle quality because it doesn't increase the duration, only the net valve lift. It'll pick up only so much power because of the heads. If you're planning on more mods later on, you can go with them as long as any cam you get has the ratio on consideration.

When I did my 1.7 Cobras it did have a slightly different sound to it. To the average person on the street it wont sound significantly different.

I have 1.7 RR's with Thumper heads and a stock cam. Idles the same just gives you more breathing up top! I wouldnt do it on stock heads though.

i just put a set of 1.72s on my car with a b cam.my stock valve covers hit on the sides and i had to buy a set of fms valve covers to clear them.you might have to shim them if you have too much lifter preload but on my gt-40x heads they were fine.stock cobra rockers might clear because they are slighty more narrow than most aftermarket rockers.my cars sounds a little different but i felt alot more power because cam lift went from .480 to .515.i think it's worth the effort, especially if you have a stock cam.

I believe they do increase duration slightly so your idle may change a bit.

The rockers increase lift only, it doesn't add degrees. I've been to UTI and have studied valvetrain dynamics and the increase in power is fromt he additional lift.

Crane Cams tech department said adding 1.7 rockers would provide the effect of adding an extra 1 or 2 degrees of duration to the cam on a stock 5.0L.

The Comp Cams guy told me the same thing when I got my cam.The guys from Crane and Comp Cams obviously don't study at UTI.

There were no idle changes when I put 1.7's on some ported E7's.

Wont the higher lift only come into play as the rpms go up? Im sure you wont notice a difference, and idle wont change. If you have aftermarket heads, cam, or valve springs, its a nice little mod to upgrade your engine, I wouldnt expect feeling a gain.

One to two degrees wouldn't make enough of a difference to have a real seat of the pants feel. I don't claim to know everything so it's cool guys. Besides, UTI wasn't all that great anyway so I wouldn't be surprised to have been misled by them. They only want your money and boy howdy did they get it.
